Our packaging is made from a variety of environmentally friendly materials, including:

PLA: Produced from renewable resources such as corn starch, PLA is commercially compostable in industrial composting facilities, and is suitable for food packaging.
Bagasse: A natural fibre made from sugarcane pulp, bagasse is biodegradable and compostable, making it an excellent choice for food containers and plates.
Bamboo: One of the most sustainable materials, bamboo is classed as a rapidly renewable resource. Bamboo’s strength and heat resistance make it perfect for producing sustainable and highly functional foodservice products.
Kraft Paper: Made from recycled materials, kraft paper is strong, biodegradable, and suitable for various packaging needs, including bags and wraps.
Recycled Paper and Cardboard: Our packaging often includes recycled paper and cardboard, which helps reduce waste and promotes sustainability.
Compostable Films: These are made from materials that break down in composting conditions, providing a sustainable alternative to traditional plastic films.

The packaging materials used in our Future Friendly range have been chosen with sustainability in mind, ensuring that they minimise the environmental impact, while being effective for food safety. We always recommend that customers test the suitability of the product for any retail application.

We have product options that are certified commercially (industrially) compostable to Australian Standard AS4736 in industrial facilities where these exist.

Commercially or industrially compostable means these products can be composted in an industrial composting facility. An industrial compost facility is a place where the perfect balance of heat, moisture, and oxygen is created to break down organic and plant-based materials.

We have product options that are certified home compostable to Australian Standard AS5810.

Home compostable means these products can be placed in a home compost bin where every component and material used in the packaging will break down and decompose into the soil in time.

Product Safety And Compliance

Yes, we offer a range of sustainable product alternatives that comply with state-based legislations on single-use plastics (please note, the legislation and guidelines vary by state and our team will be delighted to assist you in determining which products are best for your business and geography).
Across Australia, different state-based legislation and guidelines are currently in place for single-use plastic (SUP) items. These plans are a positive step towards avoiding waste and reducing the harm caused to our wildlife, including marine life, through litter and pollution. We provide sustainable and certified compostable alternatives made from sustainably sourced, renewable and/or compostable materials, giving you confidence that we have the perfect solution for your needs. We can all do our part by making the change to sustainable packaging.
